Belle And Sebastian – Push Barman To Open Old Wounds

Belle and Sebastian’s two-CD collection brings together a selection of the Scottish indie pop band’s early EPs and singles, capturing the melodic charm, literary storytelling and understated arrangements that helped establish their distinctive sound.

Blending gentle guitars, delicate keyboards and Stuart Murdoch’s unmistakable vocals, the songs move between wistful reflections, tender romances and subtly playful observations of everyday life. Tracks such as “Dog on Wheels”, “Lazy Line Painter Jane” and “The State I Am In” showcase the band’s gift for memorable melodies, intimate narratives and beautifully understated pop. An essential collection for fans of the group’s early work, it offers a rewarding overview of their formative years and the songwriting that made them one of the defining acts of the British indie pop scene.
