Belle & Sebastian – Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant

Released in 2000, this album finds Belle & Sebastian expanding their signature indie pop sound with richer arrangements, orchestral touches and a more varied instrumental palette.

Delicate melodies, understated vocals and thoughtful storytelling create an atmosphere that balances melancholy, warmth and quiet sophistication. Tracks such as “The Model”, “Beyond the Sunrise” and “Waiting for the Moon to Rise” highlight the band’s ability to combine intricate arrangements with intimate narratives and memorable hooks. Blending folk influences, chamber pop and gentle indie rock, the record captures a group exploring new musical textures while retaining the subtle charm and lyrical sensitivity that define their work.
