Evamuss – Ajqij

Released in 2018 by the Portuguese label Favela Discos, Ajq’ij is a live album by Peruvian musician Evamuss, recorded in Rotterdam.

The album features six tracks that explore experimental sonic landscapes, where analogue and digital elements merge into dense, raw and deeply textured compositions. The music unfolds organically, avoiding conventional structures and moving through noise, fragmented rhythms and immersive atmospheres that evoke both electronic improvisation and a kind of ritual mysticism. Tracks like “Selva Analógica I” and “Post‑Techno” reveal a lo-fi aesthetic that embraces imperfection and sonic accidents as part of the creative process. By revisiting older compositions such as “Urcu” and “Andia,” Ajq’ij creates a dialogue between past and present, tradition and experimentation. The physical edition, released on CD-R, includes hand-made artwork inspired by visual patterns from Peru and Portugal, highlighting the artisanal and unique nature of the project. It is a work that calls for attentive listening, challenging the boundaries between performance, soundscape and electronic spirituality.
