"Optimism / Reject" captures the raw energy and inventive spirit of the UK D-I-Y punk and post-punk movement between 1977 and 1981.

At a time when independence was both an aesthetic and political choice, bands across the country recorded, released and distributed their music outside of the industry, with limited resources but strong ideas. This compilation gathers obscure tracks, many of which had only minimal circulation at the time, reflecting the urgency, experimentation and defiant attitude that defined one of the most fertile and challenging periods in British underground music.
