Arctween - Plane Of Existence

Tito Romão, a Porto-based drummer who expanded into composition and production across multiple instruments, has long sought to release a full body of work that conveys his curious, rhythmic, spacious, and unpredictable sensibility.

Plane Of Existence, produced mainly in 2024–2025 and released on vinyl by O Sótão Records, serves as this culmination and nod to Stockhausen, Göttsching, and the modern ambient scene, while carrying traces of jazz, hip-hop, and dub. His career includes Forbidden Cuts (2018), Dance Of The Spheres (2020), Gaztween I (2020) and II (2025), and Ping Pong (2024), highlighting a path between groove-based experimentation and immersive sound design, with a Saturday residency at Mr. Bean's anchoring his live practice. The album is described as minimalistic and experimental, often less harmonic, creating space for texture, repetition, and movement, blending warm, vintage percussion with spatial sounds to traverse ambient, downtempo and dub territories. Plane Of Existence unfolds slowly like a beattape, marking a clear representation of Tito's musical identity, with a vinyl release on September 25th.
