Recorded in 1977, Ebo Taylor marked the solo debut of one of Ghana’s key musical figures, following years spent shaping modern highlife behind the scenes.

Blending traditional Fante rhythms with funk, soul, and jazz influences picked up in London, the album showcases Taylor’s skill as a composer and bandleader, with rich horn arrangements and deep Afrobeat grooves. Once overlooked, it has since gained cult status among collectors and DJs. This Strut reissue features newly remastered audio and liner notes including an interview with his son, Henry Taylor.
