Nusantara Beat – Nusantara Beat

Released in 2025, the debut album from this Amsterdam-based collective explores Indonesian musical heritage through an immersive blend of psychedelic folk, surf rock, vintage Indo-pop and hypnotic rhythms.

Featuring shimmering guitars, percussion inspired by the musical traditions of the Indonesian archipelago and contemporary synthesiser textures, the band creates a distinctive sound that brings ancestral influences together with a modern, danceable approach. Highlights include “Ke Masa Lalu”, “Kalangkang”, with its mysterious atmosphere, the infectious energy of “Tamat”, and “Cinta Itu Menyakitkan”, a delicate ballad that brings the record to a close. A fascinating and original debut, where tradition, psychedelia and global rhythms come together in a richly characterful musical journey.
