Pond - Terrestrials (coloured)

Pond’s Terrestrials draws on a lineage of Australian rock while keeping its focus fixed on the present. Their eleventh album leans into sunburnt guitars, glam and new wave swagger, and a sense of wide-open space, recalling pub backrooms and heat-soaked horizons without slipping into nostalgia.

As ever, the band root their songs in people and place—how identity forms, fractures and overlaps. There’s tension running through the record, with flashes of unease and instability, but it’s offset by a belief in resilience. The result is a set that feels both worn-in and unsettled, where familiar sounds are pushed into stranger territory.
