"Waiting for the Sun," released on July 3, 1968, is The Doors' third album and their only one to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Produced by Paul A. Rothchild, it features a more melodic and expansive sound, with hits like "Hello, I Love You," "The Unknown Soldier," and "Five to One." The album was initially meant to include the epic suite "Celebration of the Lizard," but only a fragment made it in. Despite tensions during recording, it cemented the band's status as psychedelic rock icons.
