Afonso Cortez / Marcos Farrajota - Corta-e-Cola / Punk Comix (reed.)
15.00€
In 2017, the year that marked the 40th anniversary of punk in Portugal, Chili Com Carne, in partnership with Thisco, released a (double) book about this phenomenon: *Corta-e-Cola: Discos e Histórias do Punk em Portugal (1978-1998)* by Afonso Cortez and *Punk Comix: Quadrinhos e Punk em Portugal* by Marcos Farrajota.
Written from an exhaustive survey of fanzines, records, and demo tapes, spanning 256 pages, the authors dissect all this material to try to understand how, through a do-it-yourself ethic, a chaotic and incoherent (lack of) aesthetic was created that is now identified as punk. Through the graphic production of this movement, countless stories—until now untold—of anarchy and violence; of political activism, demonstrations, and boycotts; of record piracy and house occupations were preserved. ...of animal rights struggles; of nights of drinking, drugs, and concerts...
Cut-and-Paste / Punk Comix is illustrated with hundreds of images, from reproductions of album covers to fanzine pages, posters, vignettes and comic book pages, pamphlets, and other rarely seen materials.
It is actually a reissue (for the second time) of the famous 2017 book. Revised, patched up, and with afterwords updating half a dozen things, this reissue does not include the Punk Comix CD.
