Enrique Vila-Matas - Ar de Dylan
16.00€
A prolific writer attends an extravagant congress, to which he was invited, with a certain strangeness and unease. At the same meeting, in place of his recently deceased father, participates Vilnius, a creative young man with a certain Dylan-like air, whose ultimate goal in life is to achieve the most total and absolute failure, the theme that presides over the unusual congress.
But failing completely is not easy at all. What to do? Nothing? Or ask for help?
The writer, in turn, wishes to put an end to his already vast work and achieve total and definitive silence. Fascinated by Vilnius, he follows his path and observes his stratagems to achieve failure. It is possible that, with their unlikely union, surrounded and isolated by a web of characters, they will succeed in the pursuit of failure. Perhaps success is not what is generally thought. Thus, failure and success would cease to be antonyms, to become one and the same thing.
As one Italian critic so aptly put it, Vila-Matas "is a tightrope walker walking on a line that doesn't exist."
