In this collection of short stories, the narrator listens to characters secluded from a bureaucratic world. Call Center is the confessional where the paradoxes and ambiguities of consumer society become bogged down, liberated in the sleight-of-hand of a short story. Absurdity emerges as a possible solution to insurmountable contradictions, aimless lives, more or less plausible situations that lead us to believe it is futile to seek any meaning for life other than a permanent distrust of the domestic, the normal, the logical.
