Nunsky - Espero Chegar em Breve

    10.60€

Nunsky (1972) is a northern Portuguese creator who made his mark solely through Mesinha de Cabeceira.

He signed issue thirteen with 88, a work considered unique within the Portuguese comics scene of the time (1997) and even today, due to its psycho-gothic themes and graphic style reminiscent of Love & Rockets or Charles Burns. After that, the author vanished from the comics world, choosing instead to become the vocalist of the band The ID's, whose fate remains unknown. Nunsky was a comet in Portuguese comics— and, as we know, some comets tend to return after a long time… Since 2014, the author has returned to comics with full force: first with Erzsébet, about the infamous Hungarian countess who murdered hundreds of young girls in her quest for eternal youth, and in 2015, with Nadja – Ninfeta Virgem do Inferno, a true graphic debauchery mixing L.A. '80s hair metal with the dystopian world of RanXerox. Now he presents a striking new work about a man who regains consciousness from cryogenic sleep aboard a spaceship. The Artificial Intelligence fails to repair the system, and Kemmings is forced to remain awake—yet physically paralyzed—during ten years of interstellar travel. Much like the best of Philip K. Dick (1928–1982), this tale questions what it means to be human and what is real.
