Kangding Ray - SIRĀT (OST)

Written and produced by Kangding Ray (David Letellier), Sirāt is the original soundtrack to Oliver Laxe’s film of the same name, set against the vast, unforgiving landscapes of southern Morocco. The film follows a father and son searching for their missing daughter and sister, a journey that pulls them into a nomadic rave culture where music acts as both compass and spectre.

The score plays a central narrative role, built from electronic minimalism, corroded textures and low-burn tension. Its grainy pulses and shifting atmospheres echo themes of absence, connection and release, moving between physical intensity and stark emotional distance. Rather than functioning as background, the music drives the film forward, blurring the line between environment and inner state.Sirāt has been widely recognised for its sonic impact, winning the Jury Prize and Best Soundtrack Award at Cannes, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score, being selected as Spain’s official submission for the Academy Awards®, and receiving Best Music Score from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
