Mitski - Nothing’s About To Happen To Me (coloured)

Mitski has announced her eighth studio album, Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, set for release on February 27 via Dead Oceans.

Recorded with the support of a live band and orchestra, the album unfolds as a richly textured narrative centred on a lonely woman living in a neglected house. Outside her home, she is depraved; inside, she finds a sense of freedom. Mitski wrote all the songs and performed all the vocals on Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, underscoring the intimate and personal nature of the record. Produced and engineered by Patrick Hyland and mastered by Bob Weston, the album follows the musical path established on The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We (2023), featuring live instrumentation from that album’s touring band alongside expansive orchestral arrangements that deepen its emotional and cinematic scope.
