Shabazz Palaces returns with It's a Style Sport, another adventurous set of experimental hip-hop and free-form poetry.

More direct and reflective than some previous work, the album sees Ishmael Butler drawing on decades of experience while keeping his restless, forward-thinking approach intact. Built with his touring band and longtime collaborator Erik Blood, its layered sound mixes live instrumentation with inventive production. At its heart, It's a Style Sport celebrates rap's competitive edge, honouring the drive to outthink, outwrite and outdo the competition without losing Butler's singular vision.
