Sleaford Mods - The Demise Of Planet X
28.50€
Sleaford Mods return with The Demise of Planet X — their most ambitious and wide-reaching album to date.
Across 13 tracks, the duo channel anger, wit and sharp-eyed satire into a vivid portrait of contemporary collapse. The record features guest appearances from Sue Tompkins of Life Without Buildings, Aldous Harding, Nottingham soul singer Liam Bailey and grime MC Snowy, while actress Gwendoline Christie (Wednesday, Severance, Game of Thrones) makes her musical debut alongside Midlands duo Big Special on the single ‘The Good Life’, accompanied by a video directed by Ben Wheatley (Kill List, A Field in England).
Musically, The Demise of Planet X finds Andrew Fearn and Jason Williamson stretching their sound in new directions — abrasive yet atmospheric, full of rhythm, texture and tension. Williamson describes the album as “a life lived under immense uncertainty, shaped by mass trauma,” reflecting on a world “split open by war, genocide and the lingering psychological fallout of Covid.” It’s a howl from the ruins — defiant, sardonic and unflinchingly alive.
