The Flaming Lips - The Teardrop Throbs (indies)

The Flaming Lips release The Teardrop Throbs, their first studio album since 2020’s American Head.

More than forty years into their career, Wayne Coyne and co. bring their psychedelic pop instincts to lush arrangements, expansive production and reflective songwriting. ‘Every Teardrop Cried’ finds Coyne at his most direct, while ‘The Trees Are Getting Their Leaves’ heads into more melancholy territory. It’s unmistakably The Flaming Lips, mixing widescreen psychedelia with the emotional pull that has long sat at the heart of their music.
