Albert Camus - O Avesso e o Direito
12.20€
O Avesso e o Direito was the first book published by Albert Camus, in 1937, in Algiers—he was twenty-three years old at the time.
It was only in 1958, more than twenty years later, that Camus agreed to see the title reissued. Upon rereading this collection of essays from his youth, he recognized in them the roots of the themes that would nourish his entire body of work. Here, we find the world of poverty, dust, and light from his childhood; here, he reflects on solitude and indifference; here, we see the first signs of his discovery of the absurdity of existence. This is, therefore, a foundational text for understanding one of the great authors of modern literature—who never lost, in his own words, "the disordered appetite for life."
