Robyn - Sexistential (indies)

Sexistential is Robyn’s latest album, a focused and exuberant pop work that reconnects with the physical intensity and emotional directness at the heart of her music.

Following the introspective pulse of Honey, the record leans into immediacy, with nine energetic and direct songs designed to move fast and hit hard, recalling the instinctive energy of her Body Talk era while sharpening it for the present. Largely co-produced with longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund, the album achieves a tactile and emphatic sound, embracing pleasure, vulnerability, need and softness without hesitation. Robyn describes Sexistential as a crash landing back into herself after years of exploration, a sensation mirrored in the punchy song structures and kinetic momentum. The album’s concept began as an in-joke but became central: for Robyn, sensuality and creativity are inseparable, with music and desire occupying the same charged space, sustained through intention and care. This philosophy runs throughout the record, where joy, curiosity and self-possession are treated as vital forces rather than contradictions. The result is a confident, liberated pop album that celebrates attraction, movement and feeling — music designed for connection both inward and out on the dance floor.
